Heh, I agree. Sorry I can't help more, but I'm really quite ignorant of Eliot now. It's been many years since college. I set the forums up hoping other site visitors can help each other.

Welcome, dete. As always - my hope was that this site would allow others to talk about Eliot. I'm definitely no Eliot expert now - but as always, this place is open.

Yes, "tom and VIV" is a vile film, showing Viv as some great tormented mind who you could have been forgiven for thinking wrote the poetry herself. What happened to dear old EZ.

Hey anybody like this poem that I'm entering in a Poetry Contest?

The Answer is: Friendship

I'm feeling lost in my own graveyard.
The spirits come for me through this backyard,
creeping towards me with an evil grin,
daring me to make a sin...

As this thick, dirty, red, blood drips from my hands,
I begin to turn away quietly to run to hiding lands.
But I hear a voice calling out to me,
telling me to just wait and see.

A boy about my age walks out from behind me.
He takes my hand and whispers silently,
The spirits are now disappearing, I'm here for you,
I came to tell you of Jesus and give you this riddle that's for us two:

First he spoke of Jesus and how He helps us resolve,
He's always there for you, now here is what you must solve:
I am a light, I shine bright.
I call out to few, I've been given to you.
I am quite strong, and I hold on long.
Now tell me what I am?
The boy looks at me and whispers,
the answer is: Friendship……

Hi Poetic
Sounds like you might enjoy Eliot's 'Murder in the Cathedral'
Though his religious phase lost him a few friends.

You really think I would?
I've never heard of that poem, before I'll have to look it up sometime.
What do you mean by "Though his religious phaze lost him a few friends"?
Just out of curiosity.
